Skype Yahoo

What is the best webcam in the market for video conferences on MSN, yahoo, skype, or AIM?
Regardless of price?
Um, I said WEBCAM, not the best instant messaging client...
Logitech is the best. Low price and hi quality features. Their cheapest cams usually outperform all the rest.
LOL! Seems that reading and comprehension is a lost art these days huh?

Skype Usb

Is it possible to modify my cell phone handsfree or USB handsfree (for Skype) and use it with my landine? How?
It doesn't have to be wireless, though. Just want to free up my hands. if not, where can i buy a handsfree kit that will work with a regular landline telephone? Thanks.
Possible but a little hard to do as the handsfree wires are so thin. Regular landphone normally use 2.5mm earjack and they may have different configuration. Buying a new one may be better.

Skype Voip

What, in your opinion, is the best Skype (VoIP) Phone under $100?
I preferably would want it to work as a normal landline and as a Skype phone. If you could give me any links / personal experience, that would be great.
FYI: The phone is to be used in Australia
Thanks!
If you are looking for a phone to use just for your VoIP phone line, then you may want to consider a USB phone. And with a SIP provider you can call and recieve calls from traditional land line telephones through your VoIP phone. Here is a link for USB phones:

If you want to be able to plug your regular phone into your computer, then what you need is a telephony board for your computer as opposed to a certain phone. You can find telephony boards at the link below, but if you are going to make the switch why not go all the way and just transfer your phone number to a SIP provider.

Telephone Skype

Has anyone tried Skype for your long distance? If so does the sound of the calls compare to telephone?
Skype is ok, however, Yahoo is better....go to voice.yahoo.com
it is the same as skype, you can do pc to pc, pc to phone, and phone to pc (including voicemail).....i think the rates at yahoo are cheaper too, and call quality is excellent...

Voip Skype

how can i use voip phone free with skype or any server?
hi guys
if i buy VOIP phone or router with VOIP , can i make free call form PC to this VOIP phone by using skype or any program?!!
With "In-Network" calling you can call between VoIP accounts for free, with most any VoIP service.
All Skype,Yahoo Messenger, and Google Talk users can talk to each other for free over Internet as long as they each have accounts with the same VSP (VoIP Service provider). I talk to my brother all the time over Skype or Google Talk PC-PC for free.
But, if you want to use a VoIP Phone using an ATA (analog telephone adapter) to talk to other VoIP phone or PC based Softphone users, then you can use services like CallCentric and InPhonex.
With these services you can talk to any other user on their network for free (In-Network calling). You can call from PC-to-ATA, ATA-to-ATA, or ATA-to-Softphone for free. And of course to PSTN landlines as well for 1.98¢/min with CallCentric.
I use my own user configurable (unlocked) Linksys ATA (PAP2T-NA or SPA2102-NA). I use CallCentric on the ATA line-1, and InPhonex on Line-2. Two separate services, two phone numbers, but only one VoIP ATA box.
CallCentric and InPhonex both have free downloadable Softphones. However, they are BYOD (bring your own device), which means you have to buy and configure your own VoIP ATA phone adapter, like I did.

Wireless Skype

Are there hotels in London that forbid the use of Skype?
I was informed that there are hotels in London where it is not possible to telephone back home using wireless notebooks via Skype. Some of these hotels explicitly ask their guests to not use Skype while some don’t ask this, but, anyway, they block Skype traffic in their firewalls and they block even the simple access to Skype WEB site.
It is hard to believe on this, so I kindly ask Londoners to confirm this or not. Maybe it is simply a fake rumour.
A quick search on the internet proves that it is in fact true, and another quick chat with my IT manager husband confirms that it's extremely easy to block the use of them.
It is understandable for hotels to block Skype (and all other kinds of VoIP) communications as they would rather you used their more expensive method of communication and create revenue for them.
It seems pretty pointless however as usually your mobile phone is going to be cheaper than using their room telephone anyway unless you have really high roaming charges.
I have never tried using Skype in a London hotel room as I live in the UK and simply use my mobile for calls.
However, this is only when you are connected to the hotel's own WiFi / Internet service.
You might be able to find another wi-fi provider nearby especially in London or one that doesn't charge much (a local coffee shop for example).
You can't use skype using 3G from your mobile phone as most providers block it for the same reason (they want you to use the service provider for your calls), however if you connect your 3G on your phone to wi-fi you can use it then.
Every McDonalds offers free wifi (called the Cloud) so you won't be far from them.

Cordless Skype

What is a good Skype phone?
My current cordless is dieing a slow death and I want to replace it with a cordless phone that is also Skype enabled. What is a good model that can do both Skype calls and regular phone calls?
The phone needs to be a dual phone (sorry no wifi phones, or USB adaptors please). My wife will never accept anything except a regular phone that has Skype on it as an additional feature.
here is one:
