I'm a bit confused here. I've been reading that current is determined based on the resistance in a circuit (Current = Voltage/Resistance), so I don't understand why the power adapter lists the current although it hasn't encountered any resistance yet to even determine what the current is. I thought it would simply just list the voltage.

I have cut the male section off the cord and want to feed it through a 100ft long rubber garden hose so I can rn power to a dock. Any suggestions?

Cisco's website lists a range of transmit power between -3 and -9.5 dbm. That's quite a range, and it makes me think there's a way to adjust it because it seems doubtful they'd manufacture the thing to such a loose tolerance. But every time I've used a GBIC, you just plug them in and go, there's no configuring specific to the GBIC. What's the deal?
