Anyone up for a poetry writing challenge?
Here's the challenge: take your favorite piece of poetry and write a response to it. Or do that for your least favorite poem. Or a poem you feel indifferent about. Post the name (maybe a link, too) of your favorite, or least favorite, or inconsequential poem, and post your poetic response.
There's a phone ringing in a blank room bathed in bald fluorescent lights. On the line might be T.S. Elliot or Adrienne Rich, Elizabeth Bishop or e.e. cummings. Could be Edgar Allen Poe (it's okay to like him, I promise) or Emily Dickinson (you should like her). The phone rings like a dinner bell, like dismissal from a tiresome classroom. It's for you, to be sure. It rings for you, so beautifully it rings.
Will you answer the call?
Happy poetry-ing, gypsies.
It seems my line is busy. I suspect this is your assignment.
