What should the LCD display on my Stinger capacitor read exactly?
The capacitor is about 10" s long and 4" s around and has a LCD display on the top of it. It says 1 fareded on it I believe. When it's hooked up it has little lights in it that are blus and flash on and off every now and then. And I don't know if it's supose to do this or not but every now and then it makes a whistleing sound for a few seconds. Any info or help in this matter would be greatly appriciated.
By the way it reads 0.70 most of the time. It drops and goes up every now and then. The system sounds good though. I've never had one of these caps before so it's all new to me. Thanks again.
Maybe the cap is faulty and thats why it reads .70 and whistles? I checked all my conections and all seem to be tight. The cap does seem to whistle alot.
The display should read voltage.
The flashing lights are eye candy to indicate a pull strong enough for the cap to discharge. The whistle is a warning of low voltage (10 volts or below). If the whistle comes and goes for no reason, that is a good indication you have a loose connection.
